An independent eye
for objects that endure.
Garage1977Studio is a gallery of twentieth-century European design and decorative arts. Murano glass, ceramics, lighting and singular objects are brought together by form, material and character.
Our point of view
Chosen one by one.
An object can be historically interesting and still need to live in a room. We look for pieces with a compelling silhouette, evidence of the hand that made them and a presence that remains long after the first encounter.
The collection moves between the familiar and the unexpected, across European traditions and periods. Each work is presented with clear information about what is known, what is attributed and what remains uncertain.
